The PeriCoach app is available on the Google Play Store or the App Store and is compatible with most older phones to new releases. Once installed, you’ll be able to set up your account when you receive your PeriCoach device. Follow the prompts, answer a few questions, set your password, and then you’re good to go.
The Startup Wizard will guide you through setting up your device, which needs to be charged when you receive it. The first thing you’ll do is a new device setup, which calibrates your device to your own ability. This then sets that baseline for exercise programs. Exercising consists of a series of contraction and relaxation reps guided by a graph on the app. You will see your own output as a trace line so that you can see the movement of your pelvic floor as it contracts and relaxes. You’ll get feedback on your technique, which tells you if you’re doing it properly or not. Proper technique is absolutely key to improvement. You have the option of doing the exercises lying down or standing up, and the app will track both separately. The app will also guide you through filling out the bladder diary, and the quality-of-life questionnaires will monitor your progress.
